Have A Heart Quilt Competition 2007 Winners!
As we have been telling you throughout our Have A Heart Quilt
Competition, one in three women in the US die each year from some form
of heart disease. Friday, Feb 2, is National Go Red for Women Day,
sponsored by the American Heart Association. For details on how you can
combat these staggering statistics, go to their website, www.
goredforwomen.org. And let’s all wear red on Friday!
We are thrilled to announce the winning quilts from our first Have A Heart
Quilt Competition. The quality, and cleverness, of the submitted quilts was
outstanding. Our judges, Jeannie Spears and Diane Varner, had a very
difficult task in front of them, but in the end, these quilts were judged to be
the best. And special thanks to our sponsors. Without you, we could not
be doing this competition. All entered quilts will be available for viewing on
our website, www.upquiltmag.com, on February 3, and the winners will be
showcased in the March issue of Unlimited Possibilities Magazine.
Look for the quilts at venues throughout 2007, beginning with the premier
showing at HMQS in Salt Lake City, April 19-21, and ending with the
Quilting With Machines - A Learning Experience, Presented by OLAQ
(Ohio LongArm Quilters) October 18 - 20, 2007. All quilts will be auctioned
online in November, with proceeds donated to the American Heart
Association.
